Top Things to Know

  1. CARES Act Grants - $936,741 in emergency assistance grants will be distributed to South Central College students from the CARES Higher Education Relief Fund. For complete information, visit the CARES Act page.

  2. Summer, Fall, and Spring Registration is Open!  Class registration for the Summer and Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Semesters is open. Register for classes online by following the links to your primary campus, North Mankato Campus OR Faribault Campus, today. Please contact your faculty or academic advisor if you have questions about which classes you need.

  3. Virtual Commencement, June 25, 2020 - We will celebrate graduates with a virtual commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 25 at 5:00 pm. This online event will have all the elements of a traditional ceremony and all of your family and friends can watch wherever they may be! If you ordered a cap and gown, it will be mailed to you the week of June 1, 2020. See SCC’s Graduation and Commencement page for more details.

  4. Summer Bookstore Online Ordering - Summer session textbooks will be available ONLINE ONLY through the SCC Bookstore website beginning Friday, May 1, 2020. Orders will be processed & shipped beginning the week of May 11, 2020. All online orders ship FREE during the closure. Instructions for ordering books online through the SCC bookstore (PDF).

  5. Spring 2020 Grading Options - In addition to offering our usual grading options, we are adding Pass (P) and No Credit (NC) options for the current Spring 2020 Semester only. Visit the Grading Options Spring 2020 webpage for more details on all your grading options. Please note that there may be academic or financial implications based on the grading option you choose, so consult with an academic or financial aid advisor to determine the best option for you.

  6. Spring/Summer/Fall Semester Schedules - Due to updated guidance from Governor Walz, students will not be returning to campus for in-person instruction for the Spring 2020 Semester, and Summer Semester classes will be delivered fully online. In addition, authorized internships, apprenticeships, clinicals, and other off-site instruction permitted under the Governor’s executive order will continue.
