Below are all of the welcome activities at SCC. Campuses in which the activities are taking place are labeled with Faribault (FB) or North Mankato (NM).

August 22

Faribault Campus Freshman Start-Up, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Events Center (Lunch Provided)
Get a head-start on school. Come to campus, pick up books, and meet other students, faculty, and staff. We will have free activities, promotional items, and prizes for those who attend.

August 23

North Mankato Campus Freshman Start-Up, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. OR 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Lunch provided from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

  • Leader Greeters (FB & NM) - Student leaders and staff will be there to welcome students back to the first day of school and help new students find their classrooms.
  • Leadership Learning Community Sign up – sign up to be part of the inaugural Leadership Learning Community (LLC). It is a commitment of 1 meeting a month, at least 5+ hours of community service, and some reflection work due to the D2L platform. Membership in this leadership program will enrich your life while you attend South Central College. Additionally, it is a great resume builder for your current and future career and will help greatly in your pursuit of further educational goals.
  • Faribault D2L Open house (FB ASC A116 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m) – Get familiar with everything D2L. Make sure you’re prepared for your online classes, submitting assignments, and more!
  • Breakfast Blend and Bars (NM Student Lounge 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) – Stop in the Student Lounge and get some free instant coffee and some breakfast.
  • NM Student Senate Meeting (NM 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. C106/Garden Court) – Join the Student Senate and be a part of the student decision making and advocacy for SCC.

August 27
