Organizations and Clubs

As a member of a student organization or club, you will have the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills as well as practical experience working with others. The enjoyment of collaborating and achieving goals, as well as the interpersonal connections, create one of the most valuable experiences that you will have at South Central College.

Faribault Student Organizations

  • Business Professionals of America - BPA is a professional organization for students in business and office programs.
  • Campus Activities Board - CAB was formed to engage, inform, educate and entertain students through a variety of campus activities and events.
  • CRU is an interdenominational organization that seeks to provide a spiritual environment for students, staff and faculty at SCC.
  • Phi Theta Kappa - PTK is the international honor society for two-year colleges. Students with at least 12 semester credits and an accumulated GPA of 3.5 may join.
  • Society of Leadership & Success - Sigma Alpha Pi is an honors society made up of a community of leaders dedicated to making lasting positive change.
  • Student Nurses Association - SNA was created to organize, represent and mentor students preparing for the nursing fields.
  • Student Senate - The governing body and communication link between the students and administration and the college. Senators and officers are elected in the fall and spring from the student body. All students are invited to their meetings which are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at Noon.

North Mankato Student Organizations

  • Environmental Action Group - EAG was created to discuss and act on environmental issues affecting the school and students locally, nationally and globally. Membership is open to anyone.
  • Film Club - Members will learn how to make films and study all aspects of filming by making and watching films.
  • Japanese Visual Culture (Anime) - JVC members meet to study, view, and be entertained by Japanese pop culture including animation, literature, and music while giving students a place to learn and share their ideas and passions.

  • PRIDE (People Really Interested in Diversity Education) - This group was started to provide a safe and welcoming place for anyone, but especially those in the LGBTA community.

  • Psychology Club – for students interested in exploring all aspects of Psychology
  • SkillsUSA - The professional student organization for students in the trade, industrial, technical or health programs.

  • Spotlight (Student Newspaper) - Staff is made up of students of SCC interested in writing, photography, design, or for those who just want to see how a newspaper is put together.
  • Student Nurses Association - SNA was created to organize, represent and mentor students preparing for the nursing fields.
