Job Fair & Grad Fest - April 3 (Faribault) and April 4 (N. Mankato). This is your opportunity to visit informally with prospective employers. They are here to hire YOU! Remember to bring your resume and dress appropriately. The Faribault campus has over 30 participating employers and the North Mankato campus has over 70 participating employers.
Grad Fest is a 'one stop' event where students can order their FREE cap and gown, get graduation invitations, check their graduation status, receive financial aid loan exit information, register for job placement services, and learn about the Alumni Association. Graduation caps and gowns are provided by Student Senate and are free to graduates
- Faribault Campus: Tuesday, April 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Main Lobby
- North Mankato Campus: Wednesday, April 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Conference Center C Hallway, Heritage Hall and Building A Hallway
President’s Recognition Receptions - May 3 (Faribault and N. Mankato)
- Faribault Campus Breakfast & Recognition: Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Event Center, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
- North Mankato Campus Lunch & Recognition: Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Heritage Hall, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
A celebration and recognition of SCC graduates and graduating Veterans. Caps, gowns, tassels and medallions will be distributed at this time. Graduates who have earned an honor medallion will be given the medallion and accompanying ribbon when they pick up their cap and gown. Commencement ceremony instructions will be provided at this time. This is a graduates only event and all graduates are expected to attend.

Note: It is expected that all graduates will remain for the entire commencement exercise. No balloons are allowed in Bresnan Arena.
Post-Commencement Gathering/Program Reception
Thursday, May 10, 2018. Immediately following the commencement (approx. 6:00 p.m.)
Refreshments will be served in the Taylor Center outside Bresnan Arena to all graduates, family and friends.

Other Important Information
There will be group photo opportunities prior to line-up in the Myers Field House. A photographer will be available to photograph a posed photo of the graduate individually or with family and friends before the commencement ceremony. Two professional photos will be taken: one with President Parker on stage after you have received your diploma/degree and one individual photo. The photos will be available on this web page. All guests need to remain seated during the ceremony. You are welcome to take photos with the SCC banners after the ceremony is completed. There is no obligation to order photos.
Closed Caption and Live Video Stream
The 2018 South Central College Commencement will be in closed caption and streamed LIVE over the Internet. A link the the event will also be available on this page (http://www.southcentral.edu/graduation). The ceremony will also be available to replay online after May 10, 2018.
Minnesota State University, Mankato General Parking: Parking on campus will be free the entire day of Commencement with the exceptions of Lots 5, 8, and 9. Guests with a disability parking sticker can park in Lots 5, 8, and 9. In the event that these lots are full, please plan to drop off your guest at the Taylor Center entrance. Flowers & Alumni Apparel Available for Sale
Stem flowers and bouquets and SCC apparel will be available for purchase in the hall outside Bresnan Arena. Cash, check or credit card payments will be accepted.
Important Dates to Remember
Caps/Gowns/Tassels (must be Ordered by April 11) - These items must be ordered on line by following the link above. The last day to order online is April 11. Caps, gowns, tassels, and honor medallions can be picked up at the President’s Recognition Receptions on May 3 on the respective campuses. After that date, graduation attire can be picked up in the Career and Counseling Center in B136 on the North Mankato campus and in the Student Affairs Center on the Faribault Campus.
Invitations (Available beginning April 3) - Invitations to your commencement ceremony will be available in the Career and Counseling Center in B136 on the North Mankato campus and in the Student Affairs Center on the Faribault Campus beginning April 3, 2018. Each graduate will be given 10 invitations. Out-of-town graduates may request to have invitations mailed to them by calling (507) 389-7225.
Transportation (Reservation Deadline May 4) - Transportation is available for Faribault students, faculty, staff and guests from the Faribault Campus to Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU) leaving Faribault Campus at 1:30 p.m. and returning to Faribault Campus as soon as Commencement has ended. Please sign-up for transportation in the Faribault Student Affairs Center or call Candy Laven at 507-389-7225 by May 4.
This may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Stage access for graduates with special needs
- A sign language interpreter
- Commencement program printed in an alternate format, such as large print
Note: Accessible seating for guests is available on the upper level via the main floor elevator. No special request is required.
