Learning Central Staff
Lisa works in Learning Central in a Faculty Development capacity, supporting faculty in designing academic courses and programs as well as developing skills in areas related to teaching and learning. Since she began as a faculty member at SCC in 2011, Lisa has continued to pursue additional professional development in many areas, becoming a Certified Faculty Developer as well as doing additional coursework in educational technologies, training & development, and online learning. At a local level, she has served on several committees including Curriculum, Learning Central Advisory, Online Education, Assessment, and Policy Review. At a state and national level, she has attended and presented at several conferences related to adult learning. Additionally, Lisa has designed and delivered training, assisted with statewide initiatives and accreditation efforts, and facilitated new faculty orientation. Lisa is continually grateful for the opportunity to work with talented, passionate educators dedicated to student and academic excellence.
Wendy is an Instructional Technology Designer for Learning Central. In this role she works with faculty to explore how technology can assist with learning outcomes, develops professional development resources for online and face-to-face faculty, and helps with the managing of SCC’s Atomic Learning portal. Projects she has been/is involved with include developing a 'technology stash' for faculty to explore using new technology in their courses, administering and designing courses for the Adobe Prime professional development environment, and developing resources for our online faculty knowledge base. Wendy also works closely with the Adobe Education Exchange as an assistant instructor and online moderator as well as being active in several professional organizations. These organizations allow for exciting collaboration and learning from which she brings ideas to the faculty at SCC. Wendy serves on the Learning Central Advisory Council, Student Engagement and Success Committee, and the Online Education Committee.
Johnna Horton is the Director of Library/Media Services at South Central College. Her supervisory duties allow her to work closely with staff to support the libraries, audiovisual technology, online support, and classroom technology.
Hello, my name is Juliann Brueske. I am the Technology Project Specialist and D2L Brightspace Admin for South Central College. I am also one of the college Quality Matters coordinators. I have been working with faculty for the past sixteen years in a large variety ways from technology projects, learning management systems (D2L), instructional technology tools, online and hybrid course development, to Quality Matters.
