Marketing Management

marketingSet Your Sights on a Targeted Business Career

If you are looking for a career in business that will allow you to be creative, strategic and forward-thinking, then marketing management could be the right choice for you. This widely-diverse business concentration has many different areas of focus and can provide exciting opportunities for almost any personality type or area of personal interest.

Marketing is the process that takes a product from concept to consumer and coordinates the four Ps: Product, price, place and promotion. Whether large or small, for-profit or non-profit, innovative marketing management is critical to the success of every organization.

Careers in marketing can specialize in one particular area or can span the entirety of the marketing process. A large share of marketing people end up employed in medium- to large-sized companies that have the budgets necessary to maintain their own in-house marketing resources. Others work for advertising agencies and consulting firms that provide marketing services to other organizations, while still others prefer working in small companies or independently as free-lance writers, graphic designers or Internet marketing experts.

At South Central College, you have the choice to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, a diploma or a certificate in marketing management. Depending upon your specific goals, you could do a marketing internship that will help you gain valuable, real-world experience and further your professional growth and development. If you would like to continue your education, many of your credits may be transferable to a four-year college or university.
