SCC’s 3rd Annual Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day includes $50,000 in Scholarships
South Central College’s 3rd Annual Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the college’s Faribault and North Mankato Campuses. South Central College’s event is part of National Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day, which is held each year at colleges throughout the country to honor students who are entering a technical field. Just like NCAA collegiate athletics signings, participants will ink their intentions to start a technical program at South Central College in Fall 2018.
This year at Signing Day, South Central College will award $50,000 in Scholarships from the following sources:
Minnesota Workforce Development Scholarship Pilot: In 2017, the Minnesota legislature designated funds for students pursuing college programs in the following high demand career areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Healthcare Services and Information Technology. South Central College will award 16 of these $2,500 scholarships.
SCC Campus Foundations: Thanks to the generosity of contributors, Signing Day participants will also have the opportunity to receive a scholarship from SCC’s Faribault and North Mankato campus foundations.
Individuals considering pursuing a technical program at South Central College are encouraged to apply for these scholarships and register to participate in the event on the Signing Day Webpage by February 1, 2018.
South Central College offers a wide variety of technical career and professional programs in the areas of Arts and Communications, Agribusiness, Advanced Manufacturing, Allied Health, Nursing, Building and Design, Human Services and Transportation. Details on the specific programs in these areas are also available on the Signing Day Webpage.
