Ag Symposium Bonus Event April 1

No Fooling! More well-known Ag Economists to speak at South Central College Ag Symposium

(March 15, 2016) - Check your calendar…April 1 is quickly approaching and so is a special bonus session of the 2016 Ag Symposium at South Central College.

Traditionally, the annual Ag Symposium at South Central College is a one-day event; however, this year students and guests are welcome to experience an additional half-day of learning with a bonus session on Friday, April 1.

New this year, the bonus session will include some popular returning keynote speakers from past years: economist, Robert Craven and perennial favorite, Dr. David Kohl, as they guide participants to position for success and learn from the trends in farming operations.  A brief bio of each speaker follows.

“One way producers stay on top of the changing rules is to attend national conferences where the greatest minds in 21st century agriculture share their wisdom and insight,” said Brad Schloesser, SCC Dean of Agriculture. “South Central College has attracted big names in agriculture to our stage, which is a unique local opportunity for area producers and our students to share.”

Now in its eighth year, the Ag Symposium is a professional development opportunity open to all who want to engage in cutting-edge presentations and discussions.  The bonus session is scheduled with check-in beginning at 8:00 a.m., and the program to follow, running from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.  South Central College, located at 1920 Lee Boulevard in North Mankato, MN will host all activities in its John A. Votca Conference Center.

Cost for the half-day symposium is $99. All proceeds support SCC’s scholarship program.
