College Ready – Bridge to College Success Program is for anyone who wants to build a strong foundation before starting college.  South Central College (SCC) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) are partnering with the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation to provide academic programming for prospective college students who are committed to improving their Accuplacer scores in Reading, English, and Mathematics. Students will be required to participate on the SCC campus for a minimum of two days per week with flexible scheduling options. Activities will include  computer-based modular college readiness coursework, First Year Experience programming, student success seminars, and a meal!

By improving your Accuplacer scores, you may be able to test out of one or more college readiness courses - a savings of time and money. Students who have particpated in this projgram have saved more than $25,000 in tuition!

All programing is FREE!

How Do You Qualify?

To be accepted into this program, you must have a high school diploma or GED (or be very close to finishing) and have an Accuplacer Reading Comprehension score under 78 and/or and Arithmetic score under 56 or an elementary algebra score under 76, and you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Household income is below 150% of the federal poverty line; OR
  • Person of color; OR
  • First generation student;
