Free college and career preparation courses for in-demand healthcare and manufacturing fields
South Central College, the Southern Minnesota Workforce Center and area Adult Basic Education offices will once again offer “FastTRAC: Pathways to Careers” this summer. FastTRAC is a free program that prepares students for college success by helping them brush up on reading, math or computer skills, while exploring exciting careers in their field of interest.
Two FastTRAC courses will be offered this summer:
FastTRAC to Healthcare Careers is an 8-week course that prepares students to begin South Central College’s Basic Nursing program. The FastTRAC to Healthcare Careers courses run from June 14 – August 8 at three different locations: Blue Earth, Le Sueur and North Mankato.
FastTRAC to Manufacturing Careers (welding, machining, mechatronics) is a 6-week course that prepares students to enroll in South Central College’s manufacturing core courses and take the assessment for the MSSC Certified Production Technician, a nationally-recognized industry credential. These core courses are also the first step in South Central College’s Advanced Manufacturing pathways for welding, computer integrated machining and mechatronics. The FastTRAC to Manufacturing Career courses run from July 6 – August 11 in North Mankato.
Upon successful completion of their FastTRAC course, students may also qualify for additional financial resources to help cover the cost of their education at South Central College.
