The Commencement Ceremony for South Central College (SCC) will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 4 p.m. at Bresnan Arena in Taylor Center on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The ceremony includes graduates from South Central College’s Faribault and North Mankato campuses completing their programs in Fall 2018, Spring 2019 or Summer 2019. The total number of graduates for these semesters is 613. 

This year’s Keynote Speaker is Dr. Marie Cini of the council for Adult and Experiential Learning. With a 25-year career in higher education, Dr. Cini is an internationally recognized expert with a strong background working with colleges, universities, employers and agencies to build collaborations that benefit adult learners. In 2016, she was inducted into the International Adult Continuing Education Hall of Fame.

Also speaking will be the 2019 South Central College Outstanding Alumni Award Recipients – Jason DeMars for SCC’s Faribault Campus and Marvin Bartlett for the North Mankato Campus.

SCC Presidential Scholar Hunter Gare will deliver the student remarks. While at SCC, Hunter served as President of Phi Theta Kapa honor society on SCC’s Faribault Campus and is graduating with an Associate of Arts degree.
