South Central College Foundation Online Auction Begins February 19
Proceeds to benefit SCC student scholarship program
(February 16, 2016) - Let the bidding begin! The South Central College Foundations announce their sixth annual online auction beginning Friday, February 19, 2016. The 2016 auction contains over 150 items ranging from restaurant gift cards to weekend getaways and more. Since the auction’s inception, over $60,000 has been raised to benefit students attending SCC.
According to Jim Steiert, SCC Foundation Board member, the online auction is a unique avenue for the college to raise dollars for student scholarships. “This online auction contains many items from area businesses with reasonable starting bids – making it easy and affordable for anyone and everyone to participate. Steiert also noted that it’s important to SCC and to the Foundation that they continue to find opportunities to raise scholarship dollars to assist students while they further their education.
Bids will be accepted beginning February 19 through March 1, 2016. The online catalog can be viewed by visiting www.biddingforgood.com/scc. SCC continues to accept items from donors who may be interested in contributing to the auction.
“Last year’s auction contained more than 150 items and captured the attention of alumni, business leaders, parents, students, employees and friends of SCC,” said Steiert. “We’re expecting a larger number of bidders based on the expanded list of items on this year’s online catalog.”
All incoming and returning students at South Central College are encouraged to apply for scholarships now. Scholarship application deadline is March 4, 2016 and may be obtained by visiting www.southcentral.edu/scholarships.
