The Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree was specifically created to provide students a pathway to transfer to Minnesota State University, Mankato. Through an agreement between the two institutions, students who receive their Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from South Central College are able to smoothly transfer to Minnesota State Mankato to purse their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

This pathway option was created through an articulation agreement, a type of agreement that ensures students in more specialized programs are able to transfer smoothly from one school to the other.
