Each year the college’s Foundations award a total of $350,000 in scholarships. “Our area businesses and organizations have been so generous over the years,” said Shelly Rockman, Executive Director of the SCC Faribault Campus Foundation. “We are so are fortunate to be in a region that values higher education and recognizes the value South Central College brings.”
Scholarships are awarded in a wide variety of categories based on Program Area, Community Involvement, Academic Achievement and Financial Need.
“Many students are surprised to learn that many of our scholarships are based on factors other than academic achievement and student need,” said Tami Reuter, Executive Director of the SCC North Mankato Campus Foundation. “The businesses and organizations that provide the funds for these scholarships determine criteria based on what is important to them.
