SCC Bookstores and Student Senates Collecting Shoes

Part of National "One Day Without Shoes" Initiative

For the fifth year, the South Central College (SCC) Bookstores and  Student Senates on each of the college’s campus are teaming up to collect shoes for those in need.  New and gently used shoes may be dropped off at the Bookstores on the Faribault or North Mankato campuses Monday – Friday from 7:30 to 4:30 now through April 28.

Shoes collected in Faribault will go to Ruth’s House, and those donated in North Mankato will go to The Reach. In appreciation, the SCC bookstores are offering 10% off an item for each pair of shoes donated. Last year SCC collected 450 pairs of shoes.

SCC’s annual effort is part of the national TOMS One Day Without Shoes initiative for children’s health and education. On April 28 at 11:30 am students, faculty and staff will take a barefoot walk around each campus to raise awareness of the need for shoes for people all around the world.
