Registration as Visiting Student — Admitted to MnSCU Institution
SCC allows students who are currently admitted at another system college or university to enroll as a visiting student. A visiting student shall not be required to submit an application for admission to SCC, and is not a candidate for a degree, diploma or certificate at SCC. A visiting student may enroll for a maximum of 20 credits per semester at SCC, provided that the student's total number of enrolled credits at all system colleges and universities shall not exceed 22 in any semester.

SCC allows students who are not currently admitted as a student at any system college or university to enroll for a maximum of 20 credits per semester at SCC without submitting an application for admission.

Visiting student provisions

  • Visiting students shall satisfy SCC course prerequisites and any necessary requirements as defined acceptance into a major or program of study.   Visiting students are required to have course pre-requisites and/or test scores met before registering for SCC courses that have a pre-requisites listed.  Some courses may be restricted to instructor permission or degree seeking students.
  • Visiting students who have an enrollment hold due to conduct or satisfactory academic progress must submit an Academic/Financial Aid Reinstatement Appeal Form.  Which can be obtained via the SCC website or by visiting the Student Affairs Center.  Students who have an outstanding balance at any MnSCU institution will not allowed to enroll at SCC per MnSCU policy.
  • Visiting student registration time frames are located on the SCC website.
  • SCC may limit enrollment of visiting students in high demand courses and/or programs.
