South Central College supports students and departments working with off campus organizations. The experience provides a great learning opportunity and enhances the communities the college serves.

Capstone Literacy Center
Description: We are looking for two types of volunteers who want to help local kiddos improve his or her confidence and literacy skills while building your resume! If you have not volunteered with the literacy center in the past, I can tell you that I have received numerous notes from parents, students, and tutors about the enjoyment of the experience. It has been fantastic to see the changes in the students who have joined us!

In addition, a New Program Leader opportunity is available. As a program leader, you will have to opportunity to help oversee the tutoring sessions. Responsibilities include preparing tutoring stations and assisting tutors and students during tutoring sessions. This is an amazing resume builder while helping ensure the success of each child who participates in this spring tutoring session! Availability is flexible. Do not cross this off your list if you are not available every day listed above. If you are interested or having questions about this opportunity, contact me soon!

Junior Achievement Volunteer
Description: JA volunteers deliver our curriculum to students in grades K-12 in classrooms throughout Greater Mankato. Our programs teach students about entrepreneurship, money management, and provide them with the skills needed to succeed in school and beyond. Our curriculum uses fun, hands-on activities to help students better understand what it means to be a responsible citizen, consumer and worker.
