Alumni Advisory Committee

The SCC Alumni Association consists of more than 15,000 alumni scattered across the globe. Over 90% of them choose to remain in Minnesota. The majority reside in the immediate area, providing leadership and support to our regional workforce surrounding Mankato, Fairbault and the Twin Cities. The Alumni Association exists to strengthen ties with Alumni and with the businesses that employ them.

Anyone who attended South Central College in Mankato or Faribault since their beginnings (under any previous name) is invited to become active in the Alumni Association by joining the Alumni Advisory Committee Meetings held two times per year on each campus. Committee members plan events, fundraising strategies and select alumni scholarship recipients.

Photo of Tom and Kathy Connelly"I serve on the Alumni Advisory Committee and we select the recipients of alumni scholarships each year.  It's a tough decision, choosing a few students from all the deserving applicants to receive the awards.  If you click on the Alumni Scholarship button, you"ll see Carrie Stucky, a 2005 alumni scholarship recipient.  I went to school with her dad, Steve Stucky, and it makes me so happy that she sees this award as a tribute to her dad who’s now deceased.

My husband, Tom, and I met as students at South Central College and it will always have a special place in our hearts.  Each of us has used our skills to build careers that continue to stimulate our interests.  When we saw the opportunity to give something back through the Alumni Scholarship Fund, we felt it was an important way for us to say thank you for the strong start we received through our education.

Tom and I are also excited that our son, David, will be entering South Central College as a freshman this year in Computer Integrated Machining.  The legacy of your children following your educational path is heartwarming.”
