April 9th – 11th

North Mankato MN – Nine Hundred- eighty students competed in this year’s State SkillsUSA Conference in seventy-seven competitive events. The conference was held in Minneapolis April 9-11, 2010.

South Central College North Mankato Campus had thirty-five students and five instructors/advisors participate. Twenty-five of the students placed in the top 4.

SCC North Mankato will have ten students attend The SkillsUSA National Conference held in Kansas City MO. June 21st through 25th.

SkillsUSA Minnesota is a leadership organization for students in career and technical programs. Students participate in leadership and skills competition at local, state and national levels where they build and reinforce technical skills, self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. The contests were held in the following nine career and technical education cluster areas: arts and communication; construction; health services; legal and protective services; hospitality; human services; manufacturing; science, engineering and technology; and transportation.
