South Central College's Center for Business and Industry created and launched a free internet resource for safety and health professionals to facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practices with peers around the world.
With all the changes in tools, data, people, process and solutions, the Safety Forum will help safety professionals stay current with workplace safety discussions, idea sharing and advice from our CBI safety experts. The Forum allows people in all areas of business and industry to network and discuss safety issues in one place. To view the Safety Forum go to the CBI website Workplace Safety section and click on the CBI Safety Forum icon.
We at SCC's Center for Business and Industry are deeply grateful for Ann Anderson's generous support and endless promotion of our programs and services.
At a time when marketing and communications is increasingly vital to our success, Ann has assisted CBI to not only maintain, but also further expand and enhance our brand awareness.
Anderson is a self-sacrificing modest woman, who is authentic in all of her dealings with others. Ann's characteristic of sacrificing her time and energy for others was especially evident recently as she staffed the SCC/CBI exhibit booth at the Greater Mankato Business Showcase. This popular annual event provided an opportunity for CBI to gain exposure to more than 500 individuals from businesses throughout Greater Mankato. Like countless times before, Ann prepared everything for the exhibit booth, transported the booth contents, set up and worked the entire show through tear down.
Throughout her years of service to South Central College Ann Anderson has been and continues to be CBI's greatest fan and promoter. Thank you Ann, for all you've done and continue to do for CBI.
Please join the Center for Business and Industry in commending Terry Weston for recently earning his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
The CSP credential is the mark of the safety professional. The CSP certification distinguishes individuals who have met the professional challenge of educational and experience standards and passed rigorous examinations validated against the practice of hundreds of safety professionals. No other safety certification holds the same level of demand by business, industry and government agencies.
In the past twenty years, the responsibilities of safety professionals have expanded. Safety issues have become more complex and today's safety professionals must be continually better qualified. CSPs are among the most highly trained, educated, and experienced in the safety field.
The CSP is nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and internationally accredited by the American National Standards Institute under the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standards for personnel certification programs.
This year's Flu season drew lots of media coverage, but then again so did South Central College due to the Flu news conference that was held on North Mankato's campus in early January. During the Flu news conference the podium proudly displayed South Central College's institutional mark. Based on Mayo Clinic Health Systems quarterly recap of news media coverage, the Flu news conference generated a total ad-equivalency amounting to $23,265. A special thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Flu news conference, especially SCC's own Eric Weller.
