The Faribault Campus Foundation’s 2011-12 annual fund drive has raised over $110,000 toward the goal of $115,000. Volunteers are wrapping up their calls and working hard to reach the goal.
The Foundation’s focus in the spring is the scholarship awards process. Foundation board members and community volunteers assist with the first step in the process. Applications are sorted by program area and are reviewed and scored by the volunteers. Then the Foundation Director, with assistance from SCC staff, takes over to complete the process. Donors have varying criteria for who receives their scholarship(s) and the staff matches the applications with the donor criteria in this final step.
The Foundation expects to award over $70,000 this spring and these funds come from four sources: interest from endowments, unendowed scholarship funds, annual gifts designated for a named scholarship, and unrestricted gifts directed by the Foundation Board to fund the Faribault Campus Presidential Scholarships.
A ceremony to honor and recognize recipients will be held Monday, April 30 at noon in the Student Commons and Teleconference Room on the Faribault campus.
