The South Central College Faribault Campus Foundation was founded in 1983 as the Faribault Area Vocational Technical Trust Association to promote community post-secondary education in the Faribault area.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised of individuals from the area, including South Central College alumni.

2007-2008 Summary of the Year

The South Central College Faribault Campus Foundation was founded in 1983 as the Faribault Area Vocational Technical Trust Association to promote community post-secondary education in the Faribault area.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised of individuals from the area, including South Central College alumni.

Using the theme Together WE CAN, under the leadership of volunteer fund drive co-chairs John & Audrey Tobin, the Foundation’s 2007-08 annual fund drive raised over $123,000.  Thanks to the generosity of area businesses and individuals, the Foundation increased scholarship awards by 20% over the previous year for a total of $88,350 to 115 students for the 2008-09 academic year.

Chuck & Pat Umbreit

2008-09 Fund Drive Co-Chairs

Chuck and Pat Umbreit have devoted their lives to making a positive difference in their community.  As long-time supporters of the Faribault Campus Foundation, and co-chairs of the 2008-09 annual fund drive, their goal is to increase community support to help students who have chosen South Central College for the excellent educational opportunities available.
 
The Umbreit family has owned small businesses in Faribault since 1929, and many residents know Chuck from their store, Tower Liquor.  Pat was an elementary teacher in the Faribault public schools for many years. Pat received her Associate in Arts degree from a two year college and Pat and Chuck both attended state colleges in Minnesota.
