30 January 2012
We are pleased to announce that Governor Mark Dayton issued a proclamation declaring February 2012 as “Career and Technical Education Month” for the state of Minnesota. Attached is the signed proclamation (PDF 475 KB). Please share it to others in your college, schools and community.
More media and news attention is focused on career and technical education, locally and nationally. Both Chancellor Steven Rosenstone of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and Commissioner Brenda Cassellius of the Minnesota Department of Education continue to build a strong partnership between secondary and postsecondary to better prepare our students and adult learners to enter the workforce. We are looking to all of you for examples of how career and technical education helps your students, communities and businesses.
During the month of February, we encourage all of you to continue to build on this momentum by supporting and showcasing career and technical in your colleges, schools and community. A webpage has been created to help give you some examples of what others are doing. We ask that you share with us any activities you’re doing in celebration of Career and Technical Education Month that we can showcase on our webpage.
