These free short-term courses will help you prepare for college classes and arrange financial support for the cost of a college program (tuition, books, and materials). Take a FastTRACK course and start in a program at South Central College the following semester!

Pathways to Manufacturing Careers

Machining, Mechatronics, and Welding

In just weeks you could be ready to begin college to train for a rewarding career in Advanced Manufacturing. FastTRACK is a free preparation course that will help you brush up on your reading, math or computer science skills, while exploring the many manufacturing careers available in the region. Upon successful completion of the FastTRACK course, you will be prepared to enroll in South Central College’s manufacturing core courses, which will prepare you to take the assessment for the MSSC Certified Production Technician, a nationally recognized industry credential. These core courses are also the first step in South Central College’s Advanced Manufacturing pathways for machining, mechatronics and welding. Additional financial resources may be available to help cover the cost of your education.

Eligibility & Participation Criteria -To qualify to participate you must:

  • Be 18 years old with a HS Diploma or GED 
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Take the Test of Adult Basic Education with results indicating you are not academically prepared for college
  • Be physically able to perform manufacturing work
  • Commit to attending class and completing homework each week

FastTRACK is a free preparation course that will help you brush up on your reading, math and computer science skills, while exploring the exciting healthcare careers available in the region. Upon successful completion of the FastTRACK course, you will be prepared to begin South Central College’s Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Technician programs. Additional financial resources may be available to help cover the cost of your education.

Eligibility & Participation Criteria
To qualify to participate you must:

  • Be 17 years old 
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Take the Test of Adult Basic Education with results indicating you are not academically prepared for college
  • Be physically able to perform healthcare work
  • Complete a background study ($20)
  • Commit to attending class and completing homework each week
