Marketing RFP Increases Funding

I am pleased to report that the Marketing and Recruitment Committee has approved a $40,000 budget for RFP’s for FY12 (up $10,000 from last fiscal year). Each department may apply for up to $2000 for their program-specific marketing initiatives (an increase of $500). Programs offered on both campuses may apply for $2500. This year fifteen programs expended nearly $30,000 in many unique marketing and recruitment efforts.

Catalog Reminder!

Our College Catalog & Handbook will be going to press in mid-May. If you still have program changes, or have not updated the information for the catalog, please get your changes to Scott Rahe in Graphics as soon as possible.

Open House - Spring Sizzler Event Cancelled

A sub-committee of SCC’s Marketing and Recruitment Committee made the difficult recommendation to cancel our Spring Sizzler events for April 17 and May 1. The Marketing and Recruitment Committee supported their recommendation at our February Meeting. Lack of willingness to participate, cost of the promotion and a change in recruiting methods were a few of the reasons for the change in our schedule. The Marketing & Recruitment Committee agreed to invest more in e-communications and our website to attract prospective students. Thanks to all those who showed interest in this effort.
