Ag Symposium (Feb. 28)
The Fourth Annual New Tools for New Rules Ag Symposium was held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 on SCC’s North Mankato Campus. Clifton Larson Allen was our Founding Presenting Sponsor, and numerous agricultural businesses from throughout our region sponsored portions of the event. Presenters included Dr. Ed Seifried, Christopher Hesse, CPA, Dr. David Kohl, and Chancellor Steven Rosenstone. Thank you to all of our generous sponsors and guests! Your support will fund agricultural scholarships and programs at SCC.

Please mark your calendars and save the date for several important SCC Foundation events.

Scholarship Deadline (March 2)
Please remind current and prospective SCC students that the deadline to apply for Foundation scholarships is Friday, March 2 at 3 p.m.

Additionally, we are seeking volunteers who would like to assist with reviewing the scholarship applications. If you would like to share a couple hours (or more) of your time and assist with the scholarship application review process, please contact Tami Reuter at 507-389-7342.

Healthcare Symposium (May 17)
Our first annual Integrated Healthcare Symposium will be hosted on SCC’s North Mankato Campus on Thursday, May 17 from 7-10:00 a.m. The focus on this year’s event is Community Preparedness with the keynote presentation being provided by Dennis Manley. Manley is the Director of Risk Management at Mercy – St. John’s in Joplin, Missouri. Following Manley’s moving presentation about the lessons his organization and community learned as they dealt with the aftermath of the tornado last spring, we will hear from a panel with regional representatives from healthcare, business, technology, and government sectors. Are you ready? *Registration information will be coming soon.

Golf Classic (May 21)
And finally, our longest-running annual event and a mainstay in our fundraising efforts, now in its 18th year, the SCC Foundation Golf Classic will be held Monday, May 21 at the Mankato Golf Club. The tournament is a favorite of many golfers in our area. The registration fee of $135 per golfer includes lunch, dinner, green fee, and cart. Proceeds will fund scholarships and programs at SCC.
