Bukata HayesSouth Central College’s 2022 Commencement Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m. at Taylor Center in Bresnan Arena on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The ceremony includes graduates from South Central College’s Faribault and North Mankato campuses completing their programs in Fall 2021, Spring 2022 or Summer 2022. The total number of graduates for these semesters is 573.
 
 
This year’s Keynote Speaker is Bukata Hayes, Vice President of Racial and Health Equity at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, who previously served for 15 years as the Executive Director of the Greater Mankato Diversity Council.

Kathy Sheran will be speaking on behalf of the Minnesota State Board of Trustees. She was appointed to the board in 2020 and previously served for three terms in the Minnesota Senate. She also served 16 years as president of the Mankato City Council.
 
 
Elita OlsonThe Student Speaker will be Elita Olson, who is graduating this year with her Accountant Associate of Applied Science degree after earning her Associate of Arts degree from South Central College last year.
