U.S. Department of Education Official Delivering Commencement Address

South Central College (SCC) will hold its commencement on Thursday, May 15 at the Taylor Center on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus at 1651 Warren Street, Mankato. The commencement includes graduates from South Central College’s campuses in both Faribault and North Mankato, with a celebratory reception from 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. in the Lobby near Myers Field House and the Graduation Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in Bresnan Arena.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Mark Mitsui, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Colleges, Office of Vocational and Adult Education for the U.S. Department of Education. “We are honored to have someone of Mr. Mitsui caliber presenting at our commencement, and our outstanding graduates deserve no less,” said South Central College President, Dr. Annette Parker.

Also present to congratulate the graduates will be Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Trustee David Paskach.

Having the commencement on the campus of SCC’s neighboring MnSCU institution, Minnesota State University, Mankato, will make it possible for an unlimited number of family members, friends and community members to enjoy the event. “We want everyone who wants to congratulate our graduates to be able to do so,” said Parker.
