Both South Central College campuses have new Inclusion Centers, designed to foster an environment of inclusion, knowledge and understanding. The Inclusion Centers are located at college’s Faribault Campus in B110 and the North Mankato campus in B124 and B130.
“Our Inclusion Centers will provide a place where students, faculty and staff can continue to learn about and value diversity,” said SCC’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion John Harper. “South Central College’s diverse student population is one of our greatest strengths and these centers will continue to celebrate that.”
The initial focus of the centers will be serving South Central College’s BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color), LBGTQA+ and veteran students. The spaces will also provide multicultural programming designed to support underrepresented student populations and professional development and learning opportunities for SCC’s employees and partners.
South Central College students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to see the Inclusion Centers for the first time at opening events at the college’s Faribault Campus on Wednesday, September 14 from 11 a.m. – noon and at the North Mankato Campus on Thursday, September 15 from 11 a.m. – noon.
