A disease epidemic occurs when there are more cases of that disease than normal. A pandemic is a worldwide epidemic of a disease. In the event of a pandemic, businesses will play a key role in protecting employee’s health and safety as well as limiting the negative impact to the economy. Planning for a pandemic is critical. Contingency planning for an event that will occur at an undetermined time in the future is difficult, particularly in the face of limited resources and other urgent problems and priorities. South Central College provides technical assistance to both public and private organizations for planning, response, and recovery related to a pandemic. The College can provide you assistance in developing those contingency plans and checklists that may be used during a pandemic.
