Course Title Commercial Driver's License II
Description This course meets the Federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations for mandated theory curricula before a CDL permit holder will be allowed to take the pre-trip and behind the wheel driving skills/road tests. Students must earn a minimum overall score of 80 percent on the theory assessment(s) to meet the federal regulation. (Prerequisites: MN Class A CDL permit).

Course Competencies

  1. Read information required to meet the federal regulation in each five sub-areas.
  2. Apply learning to earn a minimum overall score of 80 percent on the theory assessment(s) required to have the permit holders status advanced in the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry.
  3. Create a personal plan to complete the Behind The Wheel (BTW) training hours to satisfy the Federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements so that the permit holder may register to take the final commercial drivers exam.
