| Description | This course covers basic harvesting, tillage and planting equipment. The student will learn component parts and proper adjustment of units. Machine adjustment maybe accomplished on demonstration units, operator manual examples, actual equipment or on field trips. In the machinery set and recondition portion the student identifies set-up and reconditioning portion the student identifies set up and reconditioning procedures, follows the set-up and operators manual, uses check sheets, uses a torque chart, learns the procedures for installation of hydraulics, optional equipment and adjusts the equipment for field use. This course will involve both classroom and lab. References such as video tapes, texts, manual, handout, manufacturer's literature, training aids and instructor help are available n an open lab. The student will be working with customer, dealer donated and school owned units. The student will be expected to treat the dealer donated units with respect. The student will be driving the equipment on college property and will do so according to the instructors recommendations. |
