| Description | This course provides the student with tractor service shop experience in hydraulics, diesel fuel systems, electrical systems, power trains, air conditioning, and engines. Students will perform repair services on customer tractors and school units and will compare their component repair time with flat rate. Pre/Corequisites
Prerequisite: Enrolled in Agriculture Service Technician Program
Course Competencies
- Test understanding of workplace safety will be developed
- Test electrical devices on and off machines
- Adjust components
- Rebuild components
- Service units
- Develop a competency in the use of proper tools and various fastener
- Diagnosis and repair farm equipment
- Test and repair mechanical power trains
- Test and repair power shift and hydrostatic power trains
- Test and repair hydraulic systems
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed
- Perform parts department operations
- Prepare work order and billing of repair services
