| Description | This course covers artificial breeding of cattle, dairy and beef industry genetics and the science of the procedures will be addressed. Artificial insemination of cattle in the livestock industry focuses on improvement through selection and procedures that can be performed by a trained animal breeding technician. Students will gain the skills enabling them to inseminate cattle successfully. |

- Describe the history of artificial insemination and the use of AI technology in cattle
- Identify the physiology of the cattle estrus cycle
- Demonstrate proper semen tank handling and thawing procedures
- Demonstrate AI handling techniques on harvested reproductive tracts and live cows
- Evaluate the anatomy of a cow and a bull
