| Description | The focus of this course will be on the core competencies of spreadsheet and database software as the tools for storing and manipulating data. Topics covered in the spreadsheet portion of the course include formatting, creating formulas and using functions, and creating charts and pivot tables to analyze and interpret the data. Topics covered in the database portion include understanding the concepts, design, and construction of a relational database. The student will learn how to design, implement, and maintain a database using entity-relationship models, normalization, and Structured Query Language (SQL). Basic Windows navigation skills will be beneficial. (Prerequisites: None) |
