Course Competencies
- Identify medical word elements.
- Define repetitive word suffixes and prefixes used in the medical language.
- Describe anatomical positions and directional terminology.
- Use medical terminology to describe a variety of pathological conditions related to body systems.
- Explain the use of terminology in major organ systems including but not limited to musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, and respiratory.
- Explore a variety of medical specialty areas including but not limited to radiography, anesthesia, and outpatient therapies.
- Develop familiarity with complementary terminology associated with specific body systems.
- Demonstrate awareness of proper spelling and pronunciation of the medical language.
- Engage in conversation using medical terminology.
