| Description | This course examines the causes and consequences of poverty. Students will learn the terminology and analyze the philosophical, conceptual, and theoretical frameworks utilized by diverse agents to understand and address poverty. Specific interventions are explored and analyzed. The goal of this course is to develop social work professionals who understand the problem of poverty from a variety of disciplines, understand key concepts, and will be prepared and willing to intervene regardless of area of practice. (Prerequisite: None) |
