Pre/Corequisites
Prerequisite: Admission into the Paramedic Program. All Classes must be taken in sequence.

Course Competencies
- Integrate trauma pathophysiology and kinematics into patient assessment and clinical decision-making.
- Assess trauma patients to identify actual and potential injuries based on presentation and mechanism.
- Formulate field impressions using patient history, assessment findings, and injury patterns.
- Implement management plans for patients with traumatic injuries and trauma-related emergencies.
- Apply hemorrhage control, shock management, and resuscitative interventions in trauma care.
- Manage thermal, inhalation, chemical, electrical, and radiation injuries using current trauma care principles.
- Demonstrate trauma management and documentation in patient care scenarios.
- Communicate trauma assessment findings and treatment priorities using accepted EMS(Emergency Medical Service) formats.
