- Explain the functions and parts of the lathe
- Demonstrate comfort with various toolholding devices
- Compare and contrast roughing and finishing operations
- Describe the different classes of fit
- Exhibit lathe and mill safety precautions
- Practice use of precision measurement hand tools
- Perform calculations required for lathe projects
- Utilize lathe and mill for a variety of projects
- Implement a comprehensive machine maintenance plan
