Course Title Psychosocial Nursing
Description This course introduces students to concepts in mental health and mental illness. The impact of culture and value systems on mental health is identified. Treatments discussed include medication and behavior therapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy. Appropriate nursing interventions for clients exhibiting maladaptive behaviors will be discussed. Clinical experience is included to reinforce theoretical concepts and quality client care. (Prerequisites: Successfully complete all Semester 1 Courses in order to advance to Semester 2 Courses)
