Course Title Semester 1 Skills Lab
Description This course provides students the opportunity to learn basic nursing procedures, equipment, and health assessments in the laboratory setting. The six rights of medication administration and dosage calculation will be explained and practiced. Medical terminology, abbreviations, and documentation will be threaded throughout the course. Credible nursing resources will be identified. Competencies related to infection control, asepsis, patient safety, mobility, vital sign measurements, oxygenation, and elimination will be achieved. (Prerequisite: Acceptance into Nursing Program is required in order to register for Nursing Courses)
