Course Competencies
- Summarize the basic structure of a grapevine and its cycle of growth and development.
- Identify basic pruning practices.
- Explain the concepts of balanced pruning as applied to the dormant pruning process.
- Indicate the propagation process and sourcing of clean materials.
- Demonstrate the ability to implement a spring pest and disease management program, and initiate “good neighbor” policy.
- Explain the proper maintenance of a trellis.
