Course Competencies
- Describe the climatic challenges of different viticulture regions and how these limits impact vine management and variety choice in these regions.
- Demonstrate cultural challenges to grapevine growth and productivities.
- Classify differences in fruit maturation related to region of production and the influence of these on timing of harvest and choice of harvesting methods.
- Identify regional/climatic impacts on balanced cropping of grapevines.
- Summarize the factors involved when grapevines are exposed to temperature extremes.
- Interpret how curriculum goals 1 through 5 have an impact on economic sustainability.
