| Description | This course will be going over the different aspects of safety in General Manufacturing safety. At the end of this class students will be given the opportunity to take the OSHA 30 test. Once passed they will receive their OSHA 30 certification card. (Prerequisites: Must be enrolled in Welding Fabrication Certificate or instructor approval.) |

Pre/Corequisites
Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in Welding Fabrication Certificate or Approval from Instructor.

Course Competencies
- Understand the different components in an OSHA course and how each component is related to one another.
- Define components associated with walking and working surfaces, including fall protection.
- Describe exit routes, emergency action plans, fire prevention plans, and fire protection.
- Recognize common electrical hazards in the work place.
- Identify personal protection equipment as it relates to manufacturing.
- Describe hazard communication responsibilities.
- Explain what lockout - tagout (LOTO) is and why it is used.
- Explain the safety concerns of hand tools and machine guarding used in manufacturing.
