Everyone is invited to South Central College’s North Mankato Campus Café for a “Grateful Gathering” on Tuesday, November 26 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. The event brings together the talents of the college’s Culinary Arts and Architectural Drafting and Design programs.

South Central College’s Culinary Arts students will prepare a Thanksgiving Feast for SCC students, employees and the general public. The meal will include traditional festive favorites like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. The cost is eight dollars per meal, with SCC students eating for free. Meals are available to enjoy at the campus or as a to-go option.

The Grateful Gathering will also feature a Gingerbread House Competition. Teams made up of students from both SCC’s Architectural Drafting and Design and Culinary Arts programs are collaborating to design, build, and decorate gingerbread houses. The gingerbread houses will be on display throughout the Grateful Gathering with attendees encouraged to vote on their favorite. The South Central College Foundation will hold a silent auction for the gingerbread houses, with proceeds going back to the two programs.

Transporation Programs

The U.S. Department of Labor estimates the auto industry will have to fill 35,000 technician jobs each year through the end of the decade to keep up with demand. With increasing automobile computer sophistication, receiving training from a certified program is a must.
