Fill your Skills Gap

South Central College’s Learn-Work-Earn program is a flexible training strategy that allows employers to fill the skills gap by transferring knowledge from experienced mentors to new workers, diversifying the workforce, increasing employee loyalty, and reducing turnover.

The Learn-Work-Earn program combines technical instruction with on-the-job learning and can be customized to meet the needs of any business. They include five primary components:

  • Structured On-the-Job Learning
  • Related Technical Instruction
  • Competitive Wages
  • Industry-Recognized Credentials

Employer Commitment

  • Plan a minimum of 20-hour workweek
  • Cover apprentice’s tuition and testing fees upfront (scholarships, financial aid, and other funding available to offset these costs)

The U.S. Department of Labor estimates the auto industry will have to fill 35,000 technician jobs each year through the end of the decade to keep up with demand. With increasing automobile computer sophistication, receiving training from a certified program is a must.
