Purpose/Authority

The purpose of this policy is to establish an acceptable limit for credits to apply toward degree requirements.

Scope/Applicability

Program exceptions to this policy may be requested by a program faculty and be approved by Academic Affairs and Standards Council (AASC).

Major Sections:

  • Liberal Arts & Sciences credits shall have an indefinite life span; however, there may be a restricted time frame on specific Liberal Arts courses in specific academic programs.
  • Technical credits shall have a life span of 5 years from the time the course was completed. Exceptions to this policy may be requested and must be approved by the program advisor and Academic Dean.

Transporation Programs

The U.S. Department of Labor estimates the auto industry will have to fill 35,000 technician jobs each year through the end of the decade to keep up with demand. With increasing automobile computer sophistication, receiving training from a certified program is a must.
