TRIO Students Achieve and Succeed! Our goal is to provide students with a life-changing opportunity to earn a degree at South Central College (SCC). It is part of SCC’s mission to provide quality learning and support services and opportunities to ensure student success. Our overall purpose is to increase retention, graduation, and transfer rates, and to help students overcome obstacles. TRIO offers assistance to identify potential in students who otherwise might not get a chance to successfully navigate through college. We provide a strengths-based, individualized, and relationship-based approach to meet students where they are. TRIO provides support to low-income, first-generation college students, students with a disability, or other traditionally underrepresented students. Such challenges reflect society as a whole and TRIO fills the gap to support college access and success for these students.
