Most applicants get a decision within 10–14 business days. Check your email in case we need more information.
You are a first-time college student if:
- You have no prior college credits, including credits earned through PSEO or Concurrent Enrollment
- You have earned a high school diploma or equivalent, or will have by the time you enroll
Tip: Attended South Central College before through PSEO or Concurrent Enrollment? You don’t need to reapply. Follow the Returning Student steps instead.

Complete Online Orientation
Watch the 10-minute orientation video and complete the quiz. It’s required before you register. The video matches your program, so you’ll know what to expect. You can complete it as soon as you’re admitted.
Next StepsCome to an Advising & Registration Session
Once you’re admitted, you can sign up for a session. You’ll get oriented to the college and meet with an academic advisor. Then you can register for classes and get your questions answered. Courses can fill quickly, so attend as soon as possible to get the courses and times you prefer.

Send your high school or GED transcript
Request your official high school (domestic or international) or GED transcript be sent to SCC. It must come directly to us, either electronically or by mail without being opened.
