What transfer students send us
Transfer students must be in good academic and financial standing.
Official high school or GED transcript
Domestic or foreign. Transcripts must be official and sent directly to SCC.
Official college transcripts
From every college you’ve attended. SCC may be able to get your transcript from any Minnesota State college or university at no charge, and will contact you if we can’t. To see how courses may transfer, use Transferology on the Transfer Forms and Resources page.
Military transcript (if you served)
Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard veterans can request a transcript through the Joint Services Transcript portal. No transcript? Send your DD Form 214 along with your Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and copies of your enlisted evaluations.
Appeal Form (only if you were suspended)
After you finish the admissions process, submit the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal form. You’ll find it on the SCC Forms page under “Registration Forms.” A committee reviews appeals in the order they arrive and won’t consider yours until admissions is complete. Appeals submitted less than 14 days before the semester starts may not be decided in time for you to register.
You are a transfer student if:
- You’ve earned college credit at another college or university
- You’ve earned college credit by exam, such as AP or CLEP
- You have military training or experience that may count toward college credit

Complete Online Orientation
Watch the 10-minute orientation video and complete the quiz. It’s required before you register. The video matches your program, so you’ll know what to expect. You can complete it as soon as you’re admitted.
Next StepsCome to an Advising & Registration Session
Once you’re admitted, you can sign up for a session. You’ll get oriented to the college and meet with an academic advisor. Then you can register for classes and get your questions answered. Courses can fill quickly, so attend as soon as possible to get the courses and times you prefer.
